Thank You for visiting Al, my dear friend, a kind and good man. Your visit is very much appreciated. God bless.
For You Louie, truly a King's man now in heaven; once a King's Knight, always a King's Knight: ♬Louie Louie - The Kingsmen♬

Alfred Louis Heringer was the son of Alfred A. and Ruby Collins Heringer, born May 4, 1959 in Campbell County, Kentucky, USA. He had at least one brother and sister that I remember. When he was young his parents moved to South Lebanon, Warren County, Ohio, USA, where he eventually attended and graduated from Kings Mills High School, Kings Mills, Warren County, Ohio (home of the earthly King's Knights). While in school his nick name was "Louie" for many years until about senior year and then he wanted to be called "Al", and we did so for him.
Al was a terrific guy. He was sweet, kind, and gentle. He never made fun of a soul and always had a kind word to say of others. He always was ready to lend a helping hand. When Al graduated he joined the Air Force November 9, 1977 and was released with an honorable discharge November 8, 1981. He re-enlisted June 16, 1983 and was released a second time with an honorable discharge April 14, 1987. He then became a cross country trucker to support his family. He never once shirked his responsibilities.
It was while he was in high school he met his wife. They married on April 1, 1978 at the First Baptist Church of South Lebanon, where Al was a member. I was the bridesmaid of honor in his wedding and caught the bride's bouquet of which, surprisingly, I was the next in the group to be married. He was the best man in my wedding in June of 1983, his wife the bridesmaid of honor. Al and his wife had a beautiful, sweet son to start their family, then followed a daughter, and they then had two more sons.
Al loved the old cartoons. When he came in from work at the Air Force base he would not drink beer like most would. Al did not drink. He would instead pull up a chair in front of the tv and watch an hour of cartoons like Tom and Jerry, Chilly Willy, Yosemite Sam, and the likes. He had the most beautiful smile and laugh.
I lost touch with Al and his wife shortly after I married. At some time they moved to Florida and eventually settled in at Live Oak, Suwannee County, Florida. I was sad to learn of Al's death only recently. He passed away into the arms of the Lord while out of state, in Madison County, North Carolina. I would only assume he died while working on the road to support his family. He was only 39 years old when he passed in 1999. The world lost a good and gentle man while heaven celebrated a point of light returning home again.
