LAWRENCE BOYD COLTON Lawrence Boyd Colton, beloved to his wife of 65 years, Emma Jean, his children Don, Jim, Steve, Maryjo Hunt, Perry, Brent, LeAnn Fewkes, and Roseann Endres (died 2013), and 34 grandchildren and 60 great-grandchildren, passed away on the evening of January 25. Larry was born June 16, 1932 in Malad, ID. He was an avid aviator, obtaining his pilot license at the age of 16. In addition to being a pilot, Larry was also an aircraft and engine mechanic, and a ground school instructor for aircraft, engines, meteorology, civil air regulations, and navigation. Larry graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Aeronautical Technology, and later earned an MBA degree from the University of Washington. He served as a Second Lieutenant in the USAF in the early 1950's. Among other employment, Larry worked for Lockheed, Boeing, and locally at Hanford and Raytheon after moving to the Tri-Cities area in the late 60's. Larry was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving church missions in South Africa and Fiji. He was known for researching a large amount of genealogical work, and was an ordinance worker for many years in several LDS temples. Larry also worked with the Orphanage Support Services Organization in Cuenca, Ecuador, where he spent several months providing care for orphans. There will be a viewing on Friday, February 2, from 12-3 pm at Einan's Funeral Home in Richland. Funeral services are being held Saturday, February 3 at 1 pm at the LDS chapel at the corner of Keane and Watkins Way in West Richland, with a public viewing at 11:30 am preceding the funeral.
