Mrs.Carr was the mother of an old family friend of mine.Mary will be missed by all who knew and loved her.


Mary Rose Carr of Comfort died Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at her home.

Born April 23, 1925, at Comfort, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Pearl White. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marcus Carr.

She is survived by a daughter, Connie Mason of Seth; stepchildren, Tamara Sheckler of Indiana, Becky Blankenship of Virginia, Bonnie Harvath of Drawdy, Shirley Bratcher of Seth, Sally Zornes of Williams Mountain and Joe Jarrell of Prenter; a sister, Mary Alice White of Seth; three grandchildren, Erica Mason, Michael Mason and John Mason; three great-grandchildren, William Mason, Tristan Griffy and Ryan Mason; one stepgrandson, Jason Carr; and several more stepgrand- and stepgreat-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 31, at Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville, with the Rev. Roger Halstead and the Rev. Sonny Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Pineview Cemetery, Orgas.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
