Walter Lisle McCorkle (AKA MacCorkle) was the son of William Henry MacCorkle and Virginia Wilson. In 1879, Walter graduated from Washington College, AKA Washington and Lee University, with a law degree. He first worked in Kentucky and moved to New York City in 1881, where he distinguished himself.
In 1888, he married Margaret Chesebrough on 14 Nov, and they had an only child, Robert.
On the 1900 Manhattan, NY census, I found Walter L McCorkle, 46, born Mar 1854 in VA; wife of 12 years, Margaret C McCorkle, 33, Jul 1866, NY and had one son, Robert C McCorkle, 9, Oct 1890, NY born.
Walter L MacCorkle (sic) was born 14 Mar 1854 in the U.S., to parents William H MacCorkle and Virginia Wilson. He was the spouse of Margaret MacCorkle. On 31 Mar 1932, he died in Manhattan, NY, NY. He was buried in Lexington, VA on 3 Apr 1932. NY DC, transcribed on Familysearch.
