Sarah F. Strayer
Suffered Third Stroke of Paralysis, Friday, and Died
Early Saturday Morning.

(Tribute of a grandson)

Sarah F. daughter of Solomon and Susannah Loffer, was born June 8, 1837 , in Pickaway county, and departed this life at the home of her daughter, in Sidney, Ohio, May 6, 1911, aged 73 years, 10 months and 28 days.

She removed from Pickaway to Logan county with her parents in the year 1851. Being the eldest of a family of ten children, she endured all the hardships and privations of life in a new and thinly settled country, as assisted in bringing up the younger children, five of whom ended this life's work before "Aunt Sarah" as she was generally known among family and friends, was called away.

October 26, 1854 she was united in marriage to Daniel N. Strayer, with whom she lived in happy wedded life for 48 years, her life partner preceding her in death by nine years.

To this union were born ten children, five boys and five girls, one girl dying in infancy.

"Mother" lived to see five sons and four daughters grow to manhood and womanhood, and established in happy homes of their own. Nine children, thirty five grand children, and twelve great grand children live to mourn the loss of a kind and loving parent.

For almost forty years she had been a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Captain and Mrs. Strayer had always resided in Logan County, Ohio, except for 1 year of residence in Kentucky.

The twenty-fourth day of February this year, she suffered a slight stroke of paralysis, but apparently recovered. May 1st, a 2nd stroke rendered her unconscious, and May 5th she was stricken for the 3rd time. Saturday morning at about 3:00 AM, surrounded by children and friends, "Mother" ceased to breathe, and quietly, painlessly slipped from us to the life that knows no sorrow, no death.

Kind, generous to a fault, always feeling for the unfortunate or needy, and deeply interested in her children and their welfare, she sleeps the sleep of quietness, rest and promise.

Funeral services were held from the home, Monday at 1PM, conducted by Rev E. L. Davis. Interment in Greenwood cemetery.

A card - We thank the minister and singers for their services, friends and lodges for the many beautiful flowers; the neighbors for their kindness and sympathy during the illness and after the death of our mother Sarah F. Strayer.
