Funeral mass for Maria Trinidad Banda, 96 of Lubbock will be at 1 pm on Monday, January 22, 2018 at St. Josephs' Catholic Church with Father Raymundo Manriquez officiating. Interment will be at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Guajardo Funeral Chapels.

A rosary will be recited at 7 pm, today, Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Guajardo Funeral Chapels.

Mrs. Banda passed away on January 17, 2018 at Mi Casita Nursing Home. She was born on July 10, 1921 in Welder, Texas to her late parents; Eustacio and Cecilia (Quinonez) Banda.

Maria lived in New Deal for many years before moving to Lubbock. She atternded church at Queen of the Apostles in New Deal. Maria would sing alabanzas in New Deal and she was the only one you could hear singing at the church. Mrs. Banda worked at a cleaners and out in the fields. She had six sisters and six brothers. Mrs. Banda was a Guadalupana. Her brothers and sisters took care of their parents. She loved her daughter and two grandchildren. Maria always loved helping out the family.

Mrs. Banda is survived by one brother; Juan Banda of New Deal, one daughter, Juana Banda Delgado, two grandchildren; Mark Anthony Ybarra and Jalissa Mercedes Delgado, four great-grandchildren; Ivan Delgado, Mari and Marcos Ybarra and West Bennette.

Pallbearers will be Mark Anthony Ybarra, Lupe, Gilbert, James, Jr., and Jason Guzman.
