Albert "Shorty" Agnew, 84 of Lubbock passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018.
He was born September 29, 1933 to Earl and Ladena (Gillham) Agnew in Stonewall County, Texas.
Albert graduated from Sundown H.S. in 1953. He worked as a truck driver and later a plumber before retiring in 2007. Albert married Wanda Louise (Thomason) Agnew June 11, 2001 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a member of the Caprock Classic Car Club and of The Bayer Museum of Agriculture. Albert attended Bethany Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Wanda of Lubbock; daughter, Judy and husband Mickey Anderson of Lubbock; sons, James Agnew of Colorado City, John and Misty Agnew of Levelland; grandsons, Jai Anderson of Lubbock, Jeffery Agnew of Phoenix, Arizona, Marc Agnew of Lubbock; granddaughters, Taysa Agnew of Levelland, Najuka Anderson of Lubbock, Layla Agnew of Enid, Oklahoma; step grandsons, James Heath and wife Beth Fellhauer of Abilene, Travis Hunter Fellhauer of Lubbock, Holden Lee Basquez of Levelland, Nathan Foos of Levelland; five great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Albert is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, William and Mary (Stone) Gillham; and half-brother, Harold Hoggard.
Visitation for Albert will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 17, 2018 with a Celebration of Life service at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Combest Family Funeral Homes with interment to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery.
