Beloved Father - Husband

LEXINGTON – formerly of Flat Rock – George B Armstrong, age 44, died Thursday, July 6, 1995 in River District Hospital in St. Clair, after a lengthy battle with Cancer.
George was born June 29, 1951 in Trenton, the son of the late George Lake and Evelyn (?Baucrle?) Armstrong. He married Angela D Walker on November 24, 1986 in Ajo, Arizona.
Mr. Armstrong served in the U.S. Navy from December 17, 1969 to Sept. 17, 1973. He was assigned to the USS Saratoga stationed off the coast of Vietnam where he received the Vietnam Campaign Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, and Meritorious Unit Commendation. He also served in the U.S. Peace Corp in Kingston Jamaica from 1973 – 1975.
Mr. Armstrong was employed by the Detroit Edison Co., in St. Clair, Michigan for the past 15 years as a Maintenance Electrician in the maintenance department.
He was a member of the Utility Workers Unions of America, Local #223, Fort Gratiot Masons Lodge. (2 lines here I cannot make out) … of Foreign Wars Post #2382 Lexington.
George was an avid hunter and fisherman, having a great love for the out-of-doors.
He is survived by his wife Angela of Lexington, two daughters Breanne, age 10 and Danielle, age 4 both at home. One sister; Kathy (Armstrong) Pyle of Monroe; one brother Roy E. Armstrong of Flat Rock; his mother-in-law; Helen Walker of Lexington; three nephews and one niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents George Lake and Evelyn L. Armstrong.
Services were held Monday with Pastor Robert F. Allman of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church of New Boston, Michigan.
Burial was at the Huron Valley Cemetery in Flat Rock. Re-interment to Lexington Cemetery 1996.
Memorial may be made to the Blue Water Hospice.
