Philip leaves behind a loving and inspiring memory and is survived by his devoted wife of thirty-six years, Juliet “Jay” Garrod of Katy, Texas; sons, Paul Garrod and his partner Maranda Lampe of Austin, and Richard Garrod of San Antonio, Texas; grandson, Alexander Garrod of Austin, Texas; brothers Simon Garrod and his wife Lesley of Cumbria, England, Mark Garrod and his partner Michelle Harvie of Manchester, England, and Christopher Garrod and his wife Karen of Reading, England; nephews, David Garrod and Jonathan Garrod; nieces, Tasha Garrod, Jennie Garrod, Myra Rambayon, Halexcy Eslabon, and Grace Eslabon; sisters-in-law, Myrna and husband Polly Rambayon, and Emcy and husband Alex Eslabon; as well as dear relatives and friends around the world.
Throughout his life, Philip’s career in the oil and gas industry has taken him to parts all over the world, after which he moved to Aberdeen, Scotland where he and his wife began raising their family. He then settled down in Katy, Texas in 1992 where he continued to raise his family and enjoyed a fulfilling life. He was devoted father and grandfather, a dedicated colleague to his profession, an avid tournament bass fisherman, and a faithful member of the Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church in Katy, Texas. Although he will be dearly missed, his commitment to always help others around him will continue to live on through the people he shared his life with.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church, with Rev. Martins Emeh.
In the spirit of Philip’s passion to help others, the family encourages those wishing to make memorial gifts to make donations to Kids Unlimited at www.kidsunlimited.org.
