Emily Elizabeth Pearson was born in January 1848 in Missouri (exact location unknown), to Kindred G. Pearson and Mary Emeline Fleming Pearson. She married Fountain Thomas 17 February 1863 in Phelps County, Missouri. The Marriage document records her surname spelled "Pierson", as does the 1860 census but this is incorrect. Each census record throughout her life, she is known by a nickname; Anna, Emma, Enna, and Eney.

Sometime between the 1850 census and 1860 census the Pearson children were orphaned, and ended up in Phelps County, Missouri with or near their mother's family.

Emily is recorded on the 1860 census two times (only one shown below) with the family of G.W. Burley she is recorded under the name Enna Pierson, in Rolla, Phelps County, Missouri. The second from Liberty, Phelps County, Missouri, she is recorded as Anna Pearson.

Gravesite Details

Unable to locate grave or the grave of her son James Edward Thomas who was also thought to have been buried here. It's likely their graves are marked with only a rock as there were a number of graves within this cemetery marked as such. fscath
