Mr. Brassfield was born September 7, 1914, in Hartford, AR. He retired from the coal mines 40 years ago, and for 25 years was a self-employed construction worker in the Kansas City area. He attended the Lenexa Christian Center. He married Dortha Marie Morris on December 24, 65 years ago. She survives of the home. He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. He is also survived by three sons, Albert Brassfield and Eugene Brassfield, both of Independence, MO, and Willard Brassfield, of Boise, ID; three daughters, Geraldine Lakey and Ruby Johns, both of Kansas City, MO, and Faye Johnson, of Overland Park, KS; 16 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Harrison Brassfield, of North Kansas City, MO, Charl ie Brassfield, of Hubert Springs, AR, and Ed Brassfield, of Concord, CA; one sister, Verlene Morrison, of Long Beach, CA.
