Louise A. Breit, a resident of Glenview for two years and a former resident of Evanston for more than 40 years, died April 29 at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston. She was 82.

Born in Wilmette, Mrs. Breit was a longtime employee of the Nelson Laundry in Wilmette and spent 22 years as a cook at the former Howard Junior High School in Wilmette.

She was an active member of the St. Nicholas' Ladies of Charity, Catholic Daughters of America, St. Margaret Mary Seniors and the South Evanston Seniors.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Christopher P.

Survivors include daughter Judith (Daniel) Neubauer of Glenview, son Roger (Jameil) of Evanston, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, sister Bernice Schladt of Glenview and brother Frank Braun, also of Glenview.

Funeral services were held May 1 at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Evanston, with interment in St. Henry Cemetery, Chicago.

In lieu of flowers, Masses would be preferred by the family.
