Kenneth Dale Sly, 86, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Sunday, November 26th, 2017.
Kenneth, son of the late Vena Alice (Cheek) and H. W. "Bus” Sly, was born in Council Grove, Kansas on June 30, 1931.
On August 13, 1955, in Marion, Kansas, Kenneth married the love of his life Anita Kay Collett. He always said he never could have done the things he did without her.
He proudly served in the United States Army 11th Airborne for 3 years and retired from the United States Postal Service after 27 years.
Kenneth enjoyed spending time with family and attending his kid's and grandkid's events, his Airborne family and NASCAR.
Survivors include his wife Anita of the home; three daughters, Hollyce Morris and husband Dan, of Topeka, Colleen Sly, of Salina, Ernestine Sly and fiancée John Stahl, of Plainville; two sons, K. D. Sly and wife Vicki, of Amarillo, Texas; and Justin Sly and wife Susan, of Belleville. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Ethan Pywell; and sister, Norma Crainer.
At the family's request there will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, November 30th at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, Salina, Kansas, with Rev. Tara Thompson officiating. Graveside Services will take place at 2:30 pm at Marion Cemetery Marion, Kansas with Rev. Greg Rea officiating.
