Funeral services were held Friday, November 17, 2017 at 8:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Sewell officiating. Burial was in the Angel Cemetery.
She was born September 10, 1932 in the Bear Creek Community to John Lawrence Ross and Elva King Ross. Bertha Jo retired from the McCreary County School system after teaching for 30 years. She also worked in a cleaning service with her sister, June. She enjoyed the outdoors, working in her flower garden, reading, and Indian Relics. Bertha Jo found great pleasure spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Joe Anderson, one son, Joe David Anderson, one brother, Dorman Ross, and one sister, Anna Wright.
Survivors include a son, Scott "Polka Dot" Anderson, of Whitley City, Kentucky, two brothers, David Ross, and his wife, Kathy, of Marshes Siding, Kentucky, Maurice Ross, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, two sisters, June Ross, of Revelo, Kentucky, Donna Ross, of Whitley City, Kentucky, four grandchildren, Jamie Eubank, and her husband, Steven, Laquia Anderson, Herbie Anderson, and Tara Chaney and her husband Conley, six great-grandchildren, Sage and Calvin Chaney, Aiden and Noah Simpson, Thomas and Joseph Eubank.
