Obituary of John Allman, Jr.

John Orlo Allman Jr, 95, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, had a Heavenly reunion Saturday, November 11, 2017 passing peacefully in his sleep at Lakeside Meadows.

John was the son of John Orlo Sr and Nola Glen (Fields) Allman, born July 5, 1922, in Boicourt, Kansas.

On August 28, 1949 in Hugoton, Kansas, John was united in marriage to Willa Birdean Mueller. They were blessed with 4 children. On December 26, 1975 in Sacramento, California, John was united in marriage to Grace Irene Dodson. Grace was a light in every room and brought more family, good food and so much love to the family.

John accepted Christ as a boy and was a very active member of his local church throughout his life, most recently at Riverview Baptist Church, and served in the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International. He raised his family in the Word and his greatest desire was to see all his kids and family in Heaven.

John grew up on a farm near Fontana, Kansas. He attended college at Pittsburg State Teachers College and taught at Boicourt school until joining the Army. He served during World War II as radio operator for 3 ½ years. He returned and graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in agriculture. He worked as a County Agent for several years in western Kansas before moving his family to the farm near Drexel, Missouri. After moving off the farm he became a teacher at Cass Midway for about 25 years. He loved gardening, teaching and spending time with his family. John was a tender, loving man throughout his life.

John is survived by his children Glenda Riemann and husband Doug, of Wichita, Kansas, Dale Allman and wife Beth, of LaPorte, Colorado, Marla Allman daughter-in-law of Lake Ozark, Missouri, Dean Allman and wife Joanne, of Drexel, Missouri, Nancy Challand and husband, Cal, of Sacramento, California, Roy Smith and wife, Darleen, of Sacramento, California; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Doris Flake, two siblings who died at birth, his wife, Grace Allman and his son, Larry Allman.
