Adele was a daughter of James and Merline Albright. She married Roy Brocksmith on Dec. 25, 1963. He preceded her in death Dec. 16, 2001.

Adele was an animal lover and cared greatly for her dogs. She enjoyed writing and art, and at age 50, she went back to college to study art. She studied in Florence, Italy, where she excelled as a student. Adele was able to see the world with her husband, Roy. She was a great wife and mother, and she cherished the time she was able to spend with her family.

Adele had been employed as a CNA and head ward clerk in New York City. She was later employed as an administrator in a doctor's office in Los Angeles, until her retirement.

Survivors include her son, Blake Brocksmith (Tangerre) of New York City; four sisters-in-law, Vicky Hastings (Mike) of Mendon, Cathy Smart (Dewayne) of Quincy and Arlene Brocksmith and Paula Brocksmith, both of Peoria; one brother-in-law, Jack Brocksmith of Salt Lake City; and several loving nieces and nephews. Also surviving are many loving friends, including her dear friend Stacy Sparks and family, and her friends and neighbors Barbara and Roger Butts.

Mrs. Brocksmith was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy; a son in infancy, Jason Brocksmith; her brother, Harold Albright; a sister-in-law, Darlene Marcks; and two brothers-in-law, Gerald and Derald Brocksmith.

SERVICES: Cremation has been accorded to Adele. Private family services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 22.
MEMORIALS: Quincy Humane Society.
ARRANGEMENTS: Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
