Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, he was the son of Herbert and Winifred Gebelein. He worked in the treasurer's office in the city hall of Lawrence, Massachusetts for more than 25 years. In 1973, his late wife and he made the decision to move to Indian Harbour Beach, Florida.
He proudly served as a Marine from December 1941 to July 1943. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and a parishioner of St. Patrick Church in Lawrence, Massachusetts. He enjoyed light exercise, walking, playing 45, and spending time with his family. He was a family guy, very devoted and loving to all.
He is survived by his son, Dale Gebelein and wife, Michelle of Melbourne Beach, Florida; daughter, Beverly McCarthy of Seabrook Beach, New Hampshire; three grandchildren: Dale Gebelein II and his children Dale III and Milynn, Troy Gebelein and wife, Allison and their children Finn and Noaa, and Kathleen McCarthy and her child Bella; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Eunice, who passed away in 2005 and his granddaughter, Kimberly M. Gebelein, who passed away in 2001.
A mass will be held on November 9th, 2017 at 11:30 AM at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 3050 N. Highway A1A, Indialantic, Florida 32903 with interment at Fountainhead Memorial Park, 7303 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay, Florida 32909.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to William Childs Hospice House, 381 Medplex Parkway, Palm Bay, Florida, 32907.
