He was a slitter operator for Miami Packaging for 45 1/2 years, retiring in 2002.William was a member of VFW #3809, American Legion #218 and was a avid bowler for the VFW team. William is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Dorothy (McGuire) Centers of 57 1/2 years; children, William D. Centers, Vincent Centers, Michael (Jennifer) Centers, Mark (Shelly) Centers, & Lisa (Eric) Henson; grandchildren, Alisha (Adam Anderson) Henson, Jacob Henson, Brooke and Jack Centers; great-grandchildren, Easton Ensor and Oakley Anderson; sisters, Delma Bok, Phyllis Johnson, Peggy (Ervin) Spencer; brothers, Andrew, Timothy, Glen (Donna) & Jerry Centers and a very close friend, Larry Sorrell. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Mitchell Ray Centers; brothers, James and Arkill Centers Jr.; sisters, Patti, Elma, Anna Centers & Wanda Perdue. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 6th from 5-8:00 pm at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home, 6850 Roosevelt Avenue, Middletown, OH 45005 with a Celebration of Life Service also at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 7th at 10:00 am with Rev. James Anderson officiating. Following the service a luncheon will be held at Alisha Henson home, 592 Fairview Drive, Carlisle, OH. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
