A native of the state of Michigan, Marion L. Brant was the son of Daniel and Marriette (Hazard) Brant, who were natives of the state of New York. At the age of 21 (29 Oct 1868) he married Polly "Maria" Crandall (1853 - 1911) who is also interred in Pearl Cemetery as "Maria Clement." Together, they had three children, Rena, Leslie Eugene, and Bertha. After a divorce from "Maria" Crandall, Marion married Nettie E. Burdick on 07 Apr 1886.
