Carl married Adeline J. Oien on July 23, 1947, in East Grand Forks, Minnesota, and they made their home in Moorhead, Minnesota. Carl worked many years as a welder for Northwest Oil Equipment in Moorhead. After it closed, he worked for Horvik Manufacturing for ten years until he retired.
Adeline died October 24, 2009, and Carl continued to reside in Moorhead until September of this year, when he moved to Alexandria, Minnesota, to be closer to his family. Carl died Tuesday, October 24, 2017, in his home in Alexandria.
Carl participated in Boy Scout events with his sons and Camp Fire Girls events, Father/Daughter Banquets, with his daughter. Carl enjoyed wood carving, fishing, playing the violin, and gardening. He especially enjoyed fishing trips with his son, Curt, and friends, to Northern Minnesota Flag Island, Lake of the Woods.
Carl is survived by his son, Curtis (Sandra) Aamold, Alexandria; daughter, Susan Sheeley, Fergus Falls, MN; daughter-in-law, Jennifer (Stephen) Gilbertson, Denton, TX; five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth (Sharon) Aamold, Mayville, ND; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Oien, Fertile, MN, Donald (Delores) Oien, Foley, MN, and Einar Buringrud, Fargo, ND; sisters-in-law, Kay Aamold, WA state, and Kate Aamold, Fayetteville, NC; and forty-four nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Carl was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Daniel and Bruce; brothers, Lloyd, Willard and Lawrence Aamold; and a sister, Helen Langager.
