Born in Pottsville, Oct. 2, 1964, he was a son of Kathleen Adams and the late Foster Adams, Helfenstein.
He attended North Schuylkill High School and worked most of his life as a coal miner for several local collieries.
An avid hunter and fisherman, John enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with family and friends
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, James "Jimmy" Adams, in 2013.
John is survived by his children, Alyssa McGurl, Ashland, John Adams, Mount Carmel, and Tyler Adams, Helfenstein; grandchildren, Aubrie, Gage and Elijah; a sister, Mary Garraway, Frackville; brothers, Michael, Middletown, Joseph, Carlisle, and Thomas, Helfenstein; nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Albert L. Gricoski Funeral Home, 48 N. Broad Mountain Ave., Frackville. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John's name to St. Jude Children Research Hospital, 1455 Franklin Mills Circle, Philadelphia, PA 19154, and/or Ronald McDonald House Charities, 100 N. Academy Ave. and Trembulac Way, Danville, PA 17821. Albert L. Gricoski Funeral Home, Frackville, has charge of arrangements.
