S. Griffith Gamble, 75 years old, died at his home, 2100 Bayard Avenue Thursday. Funeral will take place Monday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock.

Mr. Gamble was connected with St. Paul's M. E. Church. His death followed a long illness which was caused by paralysis.

Mr. Gamble was born in Newport, September 25, 1851. He attended the public schools and first entered the store of Quigley and Mullen once wholesale grocers on Market Street. He later became connected with Mr. Perry in the coal business as bookkeeper, where he remained until his death.

He is survived by his wife and one son, Arthur C. and a half brother, Frank L. Howard.
