His wife, Lola Bailey Brooks, preceded him in death on August 27, 1942. Also, he was preceded in death by one son, Henry George Brooks and a daughter who was stillborn.
Survivors are: sons, Edward Lee Brooks of Franklin, Ohio, Marvin Brooks of Frenchburg, Kentucky, Benny Brooks of Middletown, Ohio, Wayne Brooks of Camden, Ohio, Gene Brooks, J. Zendel Brooks and Alvin Brooks, all of Campton, Kentucky; daughter, Mrs. Lula Alene Creech of Pomeroyton, Kentucky; sister, Mrs. Sylvia Bowers of Cincinnati, Ohio; brothers, Carl Brooks of Hazel Green, Kentucky and Elmer Brooks of Franklin, Ohio; 32 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
Buried in the O'Hair Cemetery at Trent, Kentucky.
