Helen Nichols, 95, of Mariposa, California, passed away on, Monday, September 4, 2017, of dementia. Helen was born and raised in Lancaster, New York, by Polish immigrants Lawrence and Josephine Masternak. She moved to Los Angeles, California, in the 1950's with her Mother and Son after the passing of her father. After her husband retired in the 1970's, they moved to Mariposa where he built the home they would live out the rest of their days. Helen was an outgoing and vibrant woman who loved meeting new people, travel and adventure. She was always cheerful and loved by all who knew her. Her smile always lit up the room and outgoing spirit always made folks feel welcome. She loved entertaining friends and family and was an accomplished cook and baker who was known for her yummy pies and tasty polish dishes. Helen was proceeded in death by her husband, Joseph Nichols, and is survived by her son, Richard (Elaine) Pawelczyk, Grandson, Daniel Pawelczyk, a Great Granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.
