Peggy Joyce Jewell, age 73, of Cynthiana, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2014, at the Hospice Care Center, in Lexington, Kentucky. Born in Covington, Kentucky, on June 20, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Alford Kendall Gooden and Martha Louise Gooden Lea. Peggy was a homemaker. She was a member of WLJC in Beattyville, Kentucky, the Harrison County Senior Citizens and the Harrison County Homemakers.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Tom Jewell; and her son, Larry Adams. She is survived by: her son, David Adams, of Wellsville, Utah; her friend who was like a daughter, Mary Beth Foster, of Cynthiana, Kentucky; her step-daughters, Rosemary Custard and Donna Gail Northcutt; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 23, at Woodhead Funeral Home, in Berry, with Marty Ritchie officiating. The visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Pythian Grove Cemetery, in Berry, Kentucky. Memorials are suggested to: WEDCO Home Health, 364 Oddville Avenue, Cynthiana, Kentucky 41031; and the Harrison County Senior Citizens, 216 Old Lair Road, Cynthiana, Kentucky 41031.
