Robert (Bobby) Glenn Brinson, Sr., 80, died peacefully August 23, 2017 at his home in Austell, GA. Funeral services were held at King Springs Baptist Church with interment was at Kennesaw Memorial Park.

Born June 10, 1937, he was the son of the late Maude Joyner Brinson and the late Ralph Hugh Brinson. Robert was retired from Woodman of the World, Fulton County and Lockheed Corporation. He was especially proud of his military service in the Panama Canal Zone as a military police officer. He loved his family and enjoyed visiting with them at frequent gatherings.

Robert is preceded in death by his wife Barbara Turner Brinson, his son Robert G. Brinson, Jr., brother-in-law Everett Cox, sisters-in-law Bonnie Watts and Connie Kraemer. Survivors are his grandson Robert (Robbie) G. Brinson, III (Robbie’s mother, Carmen Rogers); brothers Wayne Brinson (Diane), Arthur Brinson (Mary), Freddie Brinson, Roger Brinson of Millen, Terry Brinson (Jane) of Waynesboro; sisters Janette Dickey (Ernest), Betty Alexander, Carolyn Hargrove, Judy Brinson, Donna Saxon (James Ellis) of Millen, Linda Graham (James) of Statesboro, Becky Mateka (Lou) of Augusta. He is also survived by sisters-in-law Brenda Deaver (Danny), Glenda Cox and brother-in-law Ted Kraemer.

The Brinson family wishes to recognize Robert’s amazing caregivers, Brenda and Danny Deaver for their unselfish and personal care to the very end. Christy Glasgow and Glenda Cox who also assisted in his care.

In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to the King Spring Baptist Church Children’s Department, 3732 King Springs Rd Se Smyrna, Ga 30080 Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna was in charge of arrangements.
