Mr. Charles Wayne Bailey, age 75, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving wife and four daughters. He was born March 21, 1941 in Lancaster, South Carolina, a son of the late Carl Brunson Bailey and Sallie Audrey Jordan Bailey, and was the husband of Jackie Baker Bailey. Mr. Bailey retired from United States Postal Service after 29 years. He served in the United States Army and was a Past Master and 50 year member of the Camp Creek Masonic Lodge 317. He was also a PET Milk Distributor and brought PET Milk into Lancaster County for the very first time by making several trips to Columbia, SC weekly. This was made possible by owning a small fleet of trucks with his personal Proprietorship. He was also a Certified Sentry Dog Handler. He loved fishing, woodworking, playing golf, spending time at their mountain home in Laurel Springs, NC, and gold dredging with his family. Mr. Bailey was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church, where he served as Chairman of Deacons, Sunday School teacher, and RA Leader. Mr. Bailey accomplished many things in his lifetime and was well known and loved by many.

Mr. Bailey is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jackie Baker Bailey; four daughters, Renee Bailey Knight and her husband, Dan, Kaye Bailey Newton and her husband, Mark, all of Lancaster Sharon Bailey Taylor and her husband, Grey of Kershaw, SC, and Crystal Bailey Cole and her husband, Nelson of Lancaster; three sisters, Linda Bailey Plyler, Carol Bailey, and Mary Bailey Smith; nine grandchildren, Danny Knight, Allison Knight Tillman and her husband, Garrett, Jacob Knight, Jeremy Newton and Hunter Newton, Audrey and Megan Taylor, and Austin and Bailey Cole, a great granddaughter, Olivia Kate Tillman, and his service dog, Abby.

Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Kenneth Brunson Bailey, and two sisters, Kay Bailey Pardue and Barbara Bailey Privette.

The Celebration of Life Service with Military and Masonic Rites will be 3:00 pm, Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Camp Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Don Waldrop and Rev. Kelvin Hinson officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 – 3:00 pm, Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Regency Hospice, 250 Piedmont Boulevard, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
