I thought life was forever
But it wasn't meant to be
I'm growing old and tired
And God is calling me.

I hate to leave my loved ones,
For they have shared my pain;
But I'm ready now for Jesus
I hear him call my name

I feel his hand upon me,
He'll guide me through it all.
In blessed peace He'll hold me,
I am answering his call

Don't grieve for me, my dear ones,
For I am heaven blest.
God knows I'm weary,
He's called me home to rest
