Mansfield Edward "Ed" Bingham was the son of Harman Bingham and Sally Mitchell. He married Martha E. Weir about 1862 and Milla "Millie" E. Myers March 18, 1897 in Laclede Co., Missouri. He was a private in Company H Missouri Cavalry of the Union Army. He was the father of six children. He was an ordained minister.

August 27, 1864 Absent, On Scout Duty. October 30, 1864 Absent, On Scout Duty. July 22, 1865 Transferred to Company "H", of the 11th Missouri Volunteer Cavalry, USA per War Department Special Order # 172 to complete a -3- Year enlistment. - Ralph Biggs
