ODESSA ~~ It s with great sadness that the family of Murray Clark Jones announces his passing after a brief illness on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at the age of 80.
Murray was born in Ontario, Canada, to Walter "Shorty" Jones and Myrtle Dell. His father moved him and his siblings to Colorado City in the 1940's where he spent his formative years. Murray served in the U.S. Army from 1959 until 1961 and lived and worked for many years in the Houston area as a truck driver. After retiring, he returned to Colorado City and lived out his final days by Lake Colorado City. Murray was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Roxanne Jones; brothers, Rufus and Hughie Jones; daughter, Ellen Jones; his son, Ricky Jones; and a grandson, Wade Reese.
He is survived by his sister, Evelyn Shelly of Ontario, Canada; his brother, Billy Jones of North Carolina; his daughters, Ann (Randy) Green of Washington and Mary (Bill Reid of Texas, Suzanna Azbill of Texas; sons, Murray Clark, Jr. and Michael Jones; grandchildren, Eric Harrison, David Nall and Keela Meyer all of Oklahoma, Tobie Fincher and Micheal Silva of California, Chrystal Reese, Bryan Jones, Shawn Jones, Nathan Jones and Randy Compton, all of Texas; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
