Yancey, Evelyn Bullock, 88, of Mechaniscville, VA, went to be with the Lord on July 27, 2017. Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Anne Bullock Melton; sons, Brad Bullock and Kenny Yancey; 8 grandchildren, Chad Melton, Branford Bullock, Jeb Melton, Erin Melton, Cally Melton, Chase Bullock, Hunter Bullock, and Erica Brannan (Hunter); 4 great grandchildren, Kyla Brannan, Londyn Bullock, Kolby Brannan, and Camden Bullock: niece, Dorothy "Punk" Wood and great niece, Brenda Crumpler (Dwayne ) and their son, Michael Crumpler.
Whether known as Granny, E., Evelyn, or Ms. Yancey, her greatest memories were spent as a Hanover County Public Schools bus driver for over 40 years. She also made many friends working in the school cafeteria at Mechaniscville Elementary School and .camo Hanover. When she wasn't watching The Price is Right or Jeopardy, she always tuned in to cheer on the Virginia Tech Hokies and Denny Hamlin. She was a devoted believer of Christ and a selfless mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great aunt.
The family received friends on August 3, 2017, at 5:00 p.m, followed by a celebration of life at 6:00 p.m, at Gethsemane Church of Christ in Mechaniscville.
