My GG-Grandmother, Matilda Ann Criner Burns was the first of six children born to James Criner (1812-?) and Mary Ann Hays(1814-?) in Glade Mills, Butler County, Pennsylvania. Matilda's siblings were: Lewis, Sarah J., John, Hannah L., and Nancy E. She was deaf and could not speak, this information is noted on a US census, it is not clear if she was born with the infirmaries.
