Sarah Jane Hindmarsh was born in a small village called "Brook In Hampshire" England. We do not have her date of birth. Her son had furnished us with this information about her birth. Her father was the head game keeper on some big estate. Her parents broke away from the church (probably The Church of England" as they don't like the "Lord of the Manor" having the power to rule over everyone. Her family used to walk some miles on Sunday morning to worship in a tin chapel. From here they helped to build a railway. They lived in wooden huts on the side of the railway. They had a large family and some of the older men worked for the railway and finally they moved to Lincolnshire. Two of her brothers worked as policemen and one became the Chief Inspector in Leicester. A younger brother won a scholarship at the Blue Coat School.

We do know that she married Luke Hindmarsh In March of 1897s. There first child Walter was born in 1898 and he married Agnes. They had another son that they named Herbert and he married Florence Leach. Then they had a daughter they called Annie who married Ted Shepherd. Then there was Alice and she married Leslie Blades. There last son Frank and he married someone who we do not have there name.

Sarah died on Saturday, February 3, 1956. She was buried on Monday, February 5, 1956. Luke died Monday, October 16, 1961 and was buried on Wednesday, October 17,1961. She and Luke are buried together in the Canwick Road Old Cemetery in Lincoln, England. Their graves are located in the northwest section of the cemetery. Joan Hindmarsh knows exactly where the graves are located.
