MANCHESTER Guy P. "Speedy" Smith, 76, died at 5:50 a.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2007, at Manor Care Dallastown. He was the husband of Bonita (Parsons) Smith, whom he married 54 years ago on August 4, 1952. Burial will be in Suburban Memorial Gardens, with the York County Veterans Honor Guard performing military honors at the graveside. Officiating at his service will be the Rev. Richard Starr from Christ Lutheran Church in Starview. Speedy was born January 10, 1931, in Cumberland County, the son of the late Samuel and Susan (Baughman) Smith. He was a self employed General Contractor for many years before retiring. He proudly served his country in the United States Army During WWII. He was a Life member of the Susquehanna V.F.W. Post 2493 in Mt. Wolf, Pleasureville American Legion Post 799, and the Wago Club in Mt. Wolf. Speedy is survived by one brother, Wilmer "Dutch" Smith of Manchester; and two sisters, Mable Foose of New Bloomfield, and Alberta Neal of Gardners.
