Paris Nursing Home, Paris, TX. The Paris News, ALMA DICKEN -Alma Dicken, 79, of Paris died at 9:35 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, 1998, at Paris Nursing Home. Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home will conduct graveside services at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 12, in Meadowbrook Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Moore officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Dicken was born Aug. 15, 1918, in Minter to Thomas Jefferson and Ollie Lula Huggins Tallant. She married James Rex Dicken in Lamar County 13 July 1938. He died 17 July 1993. She was a homemaker and member of Lakeway Baptist Church. Surviving are four children, Alma Jean Taylor and husband William Otis of Powderly, Tommy Dicken and wife Katherine of Enterprise, Alabama, Howard Dicken and wife Allene of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, and Mark Dicken and wife Cathy of Powderly; 14 grandchildren, Sherry Parker Smith Stover of Bridgeport; Richard Parker of Des Moines, Iowa; Larry Taylor of Paris; Tammy Williams of Amarillo; Chris Stephens of Powderly; Ben Dicken of Germany; Jeff Dicken of Tampa, Florida; Lisa Dicken Barreto of Enterprise, Alabama; Danny Dicken, Teresa Estes, Tim Dicken, Mitchell Dicken, all of the Dallas area; Ronald Wear of Ennis and April Cortes of Phoenix, Arizona; 25 great-grand children; two sisters, Nota Tallant Boren of Bluffton, Indiana and Wanda Tallant Waters of Norman, Oklahoma; and two brothers, Wendell Tallant of Paris and Duane E. Tallant of Austin. She was preceded in death by brothers, Burton and Vernon Tallant, of Howard County Arkansas; sisters Glyn Tallant Hale of Nashville, Arkansas, Hettie Tallant Luther of Paris, and Otha Tallant Smith of Hot Springs Arkansas; and a grandson, Brandon Smith. Honorary bearers will be Tim Dicken, Chris Stephens, Danny Dicken, Richard Parker and Mitchell Dicken.
