A Celebration of Life Service for Robert R. Anderson, 77, of rural Trimont, Minnesota, was held 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2017 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Trimont, Minnesota with Pastor Todd Van Zee and Pastor Pat Thomas Officiating.

Bob was called to his eternal rest on Monday afternoon, July 3, 2017 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Visitation was held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the Kramer Family Funeral Home in Trimont and one hour prior to the services on Friday at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Trimont.

Robert Rudolph Anderson was born on February 16, 1940 to Alvin and Ruth [Anderson] Anderson on the family farm in Cedar Township, rural Trimont, Minnesota. He attended rural country school in District #110 in Cedar Township and later Triumph-Monterey School until the 9th grade. Bob was a graduate of the American School of Chicago. He then was employed at Ed Erickson Implement and also farmed west of Trimont. He joined the Minnesota National Guard with training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He returned home and was a member of the St. James National Guard Unit out of St. James. On May 31, 1964 he was united in marriage to Marlene Ziebarth at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Trimont, Minnesota. After their marriage they farmed and lived in rural St. James until moving to the family farm west of Trimont in Cedar Township in 1973 and farmed until the time of his death. Bob served on the Evangelical Covenant board, sang in a quartet and was sexton of Cedar Hill Cemetery. He also served on the Trimont School Board and later on the Martin County West School Board. He enjoyed farming and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene Anderson of rural Trimont; daughter, Julee and her husband, Jonathan Scarfpin of rural Trimont; two grandchildren, Seth and Ava Scarfpin; two sisters, Eunice Erickson of Trimont and Elaine Anderson of rural Trimont; brother, Lowell and LaVerne Anderson of Minnetonka, Minnesota; nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Michelle “Anderson” Duncan; brother-in-law, Richard Erickson and other relatives.
