Born in Healdton, Okla., to William "Bill" and Edna Emberling Sharder. He died in Norman. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Claudie Shrader; grandson, Issac Covey, and great-grandsons, Kyle McClendon and Braden Key.
Troy attended school in Healdton and later worked on a farm. He married Hazel Bernice White on Nov. 27, 1940, in Healdton and continued farming until 1943, when they moved to Lodi, Calif., and he worked in the shipyards. In 1945, they returned to Healdton and he worked in the oil fields, employed by Mobile Oil for 35 years before he retired as a gauger.
Troy enjoyed jug lining and trot lining for catfish and he was a raccoon hunter. He supplied a lot of families with fresh vegetables raised from his gardens. Troy was a man of his word and a man of integrity. He loved his family more than anything and it showed as he was a wonderful husband, father and papa. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Guylene Shrader, Ardmore; three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Mike Barnes, Sherman, Texas, Phyllis and Allan Seals, New Haven, Mo., and Janice and Jim Covey, Lone Grove; a sister, Mildred Carter, Duncan; grandchildren, Steve and Cynthia Barnes, Matt and Marci Barnes, Missy Barnes, all of Dallas, Ron and Karla Shrader, Canadian, Texas, Mike and Lori Austin, Willis, Texas, Kerry and Carmen Shrader, Iowa Park, Texas, David and Nicky Oliver, O'Fallon, Mo., Jonathon Oliver, St. Louis, Mo., Larry Covey, Healdton, Maria Covey, Oklahoma City, Rae Lyn Covey, Ada; a nephew, Dixie Joe Jackson, Duncan; great-grandchildren, Mauri, Maile and Morgan Shrader, Keith McClendon, Chad and Kendra Shrader, Haleigh and Blake Barnes, Bailey and Abigail Barnes, Brittany and Kiera Oliver; great-great-grandchild, Kylie McClendon.
