Alice Morgan Walser, 84, passed away Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, at Liberty Commons Nursing Center.

Mrs. Walser was born Sept. 1, 1924, in Rowan County. She was the daughter of the late Mary Morgan and the late John Morgan.

Mrs. Walser attended Rowan County Schools and worked for Pioneer Manufacturing, Troutman Shirt Factory and was Curator for Sloan Park.

Mrs. Walser was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School Class for more than 30 years.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Odell Walser; brothers and sisters, Harry, Jacob, Lucille, Clyde, Charlie, Roy, Lula Jane and Johnsie.

Survivors include her sons, Larry Walser (Patty) of Statesville, Steve Walser (Elaine) of Salisbury and Linn Walser (Vicky) of Salisbury; daughter, Shirley Smith (Don) of Charlotte; a special daughter she loved as her own, Lola Cross of Lexington; brother, Howard Morgan of Rockwell; grandchildren, Carmen Carter, Tammy Chapman, Jimmie Walser, Cara Walser, Cody Walser, Angela Shores, David Smith and Jennifer Smith; great-grandchildren, Hannah Walser, Emily Walser, Michelle Zajac, Tiffany Chapman and Morgan Shores.
