David was born 1808 in Haywood County, North Carolina, He lived on the Fines Creek area of Haywood County, NC until 1839. David moved his family to Del Rio Cocke County, TN. On the census David shows again at Murray County, GA to become part of the Confederate Militia Re-Organization. His company was present at the Battle of Appomattox when General Lee surrendered and the war was over.
