Raymond was born in Seattle and grew up in
Everett with his two sisters.He graduated in
1968 from the Everett High School.About a
month later he enlisted in the Marines 24 July
1968, at a Seattle Recruiting Office.
Arriving in Vietnam 21 January 1969 Raymond
was assigned to H&S Company,2nd Battalion,
9th Marine Regiment,3rd Marine Division.A
Golf Company platoon had gone out on a
patrol and was returning back to Con Thien
(Hill 158) when Raymond and another Marine
died as as a result of a hostile booby-trapped
mine and wounded other Marines.Raymond died as
a result of fragmentation wounds to the head
and body.
Survived by his parents,Raymond C & Mildred
A Briggs and his sisters,Jennifer and Susan all
of 2010 Rockfeller St,Everett,WA.
