James Edward Mitchell, age 77, passed away on June 10, 2017 after a long illness.

James was born to Robert and Wadie Mitchell of St. Simons Island. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1965 and proudly served 20 years. He was a Vietnam Veteran and served several tours in Germany. He retired at Fort Stewart. He then began his career with Coca-Cola as a Sales Representative. James fully retired after that and moved back to St. Simons Island where he met his beloved wife Lenoria. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two older brothers Robert and David Mitchell and a daughter, Elizabeth "Lisa" Dittbenner.

James is survived by his loving wife Lenoria Mitchell of Brunswick; his sister Edna Behrens of St. Simons Island; his son Eddie Maddux; his daughter Carol Windham of Brunswick; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren and nieces and nephew.

Funeral services will be at 11:00am Thursday, June 15, in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons with Rev. Wright Culpepper officiating. Burial to follow at 2:00pm in Lake Chapel Cemetery, Screven, GA.

Visitation will take place Wednesday evening from 6 – 8pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to The Well, P.O. Box 2902, Brunswick, GA 31521.

Arrangements are entrusted to Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
