Gerald R. Barnes, 58, of East Toledo, died on Thursday, December 14, 2000, in his home. Gerald was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He worked 28 years for the Chrysler Machinery as a bench hand retiring in 1997. Gerald was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Fremont. He greatly loved his grandchildren, and enjoyed camping, playing cards, yahtzee, golf, and horseshoes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Helen Barnes; twin brother, Harold; brother, Allen, and grandson, Brad.
Gerald is survived by his loving wife, Florence J.; children, John L. (fiance, Elida) Howard, Susan (Timothy) Ray, Pamela S. (Tony) Woodfill and Nichole (Keith) Hairabedian; sisters, Sue and Rita; brother, Bob Barnes; grandchildren, Pamela, Drake and Ashley. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-9 p.m. in the Eggleston-Meinert Funeral Home, Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, where funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Interment will take place in Lake Township Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice
