DOVER Sarah A. "Noot" Witmer, 94, died at 8:45 p.m. Monday, Feb ruary 19, 2007, at Normandie Ridge. She was the wife of the late Oscar "Bill" Witmer. She was born July 8, 1912, in Conewago Township, a daughter of the late Penrose and Minnie (Fetrow) Beck. Sarah had 24 years of service as a press operator for Cole Steel, York. She was a member of St. David's E.C. Church, Dover, and AARP. She is survived by a daughter, Nancy L. Laughman of Dover; three sons, Dale L. Witmer of Dover, Ronald O. Witmer of Chincoteague, Va., and Larry R. Witmer of Florida; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gladys Zeigler of Dover and Romaine Bechtel of Shiloh; and a stepsister, Florence Tome of Mount Wolf. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Joyce A. Holtzapple and Betty M. Rudisill; a son, Donald E. Witmer; and a great-granddaughter. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral at 11 a.m. Friday at St. David's E.C. Church, 2411 Oakland Road, Dover. Burial will follow in Parkville Cemetery, Dover.
