Nancy worked at Puget Sound Navel Shipyard from 1970 to 1989. She graduated from Evergreen State College in 1990. Her work as a management team builder brought her to Port Angeles where she married Lawrence A. “Larry” Lang in 2003.
In 2014 Nancy published a book about her grandmother Pearl MacHenry's 1930 trip across the United States in a Willys-Knight automobile. Titled "9,000 Miles in a Knight," the book was a collaboration for Nancy and Larry, both avid genealogists and historians.
