A Celebration of Life Service for Laverne M. Honnette, 93, of Sherburn, Minnesota, was held 6:00 P.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Trimont, Minnesota with Pastor Todd Van Zee Officiating.

Laverne was called to her eternal rest on Friday afternoon, April 7, 2017 at Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center, in Fairmont, Minnesota.

LaVerne Marion Anderson was born on September 18, 1923 to Andrew and Eva (Lindell) Anderson on the family farm in Cedar Township, Martin County, Minnesota. She received her education in rural school in Cedar Township. On December 11, 1948 she was united in marriage to Melvin J. Honnette at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Triumph, Minnesota. After their marriage they farmed in Lake Fremont Township and later Jay Township until 1952 when they moved to a farm in Cedar Township, rural Trimont. In 1963 they moved back to the family farm in Lake Fremont Township. In 1967, they moved into Sherburn. Melvin was called to his eternal rest on January 18, 2002. LaVerne continued living in Sherburn until most recently becoming a resident of Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont. LaVerne was a member of Evangelical Covenant Church. She enjoyed working at the church and especially decorating for Christmas. LaVerne loved playing the organ and piano and she played by ear.

Survivors include her two sons, Jerome Honnette and his wife, Sandy, of rural Sherburn, Minnesota and Michael Honnette and his wife, Darla, of Sherburn, Minnesota; her daughter, Melinda Honnette of Arnolds Park, Iowa; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Arlene Larson of Sherburn, Minnesota; brother-in-law, Paul Honnette of Fairmont, Minnesota; several nieces and nephews and other relatives.

LaVerne was preceded in death by her parents; Andrew and Eva Anderson; granddaughter, Sara Honnette; several brothers and sisters and other relatives.
