John Gordon (Brownie) Brown, 66 died early Tuesday morning at his home following a sudden illness. He was born in Missouri and came to this area some 50 years ago. He attended the Winship High School in Eureka and was employed for 15 years at the Little River Redwood Company in Crannell. He had been employed by the Eureka City Schools for 21 years where he was the engineer at the Senior High school and widely known by thousands of students.
He is survived by children, Mrs. Roger Lintner and Darrell Brown, both of South San Francisco; Mrs. Julia Rash of San Francisco and Herschel Brown of Eureka; sister, Mrs. Clarice Guyre of San Francisco; eight grandchildren and seven nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, 1:30 p.m., at the Cooper Mortuary Chapel of the Ferns with the Rev. Harold Ranton officiating. Interment will follow at Ocean View Cemetery.
