I made this memorial for my dear friend's husband. RIP DC.

Darrell Lee " Girl Britches" " Slim " Carpenter, 68, Colorado City passed away in Colorado City on Monday, May 22, 2017 after a brief illness.
He was born on December 25, 1948 in Colorado City to Oren and Coryie Dulin Carpenter.
Darrell was a very independent, strong-willed man with a heart as big as the world. He was the type of guy that would give you his last dollar or anything that he had if he knew you needed it. Darrell worked hard his entire life cattle ranching, and pumping oil in order to provide for his family. He was proud to say that he did not miss a day of work in over 49 years. Darrell was a family man who would make sure to show his wife and his children every day that he loved them.
Darrell is survived by his wife Brenda Carpenter of Colorado City, his son Ray Carpenter of Big Spring, his daughter Andra Manning and husband James of Dallas, by his grandchildren Rebecca Carpenter, Elizabeth Carpenter, and Caleb Chaney, and by his great-grandchildren Nathan and Maddie. His sister-in-law Caroline Carpenter of Odessa also survives.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Lyndale Carpenter and Dwayne Carpenter.
A funeral service for Darrell will be held on Friday, May 26th at 2 pm at the First Baptist Church of Colorado City with Doctor Jerry Shields officiating, burial will follow in the Colorado City Cemetery.
