Fredrick Irvin Brown was the eldest child born to Fred S. and Harriet Mary (Fort) Brown on April 19, 1867 in Monmouth, Warren County, Illinois. He married Sophie Christina Meyer, daughter of Heinrich and Johanna (Brueggemann) Meyer around 1905, and they relocated to California. He first resided in Los Angeles County and then moved to Hemet, Riverside, California where he was a farmer, specializing as a fruit grower raising apricots among other products. Fred and Sophie Brown had two children, Marjorie Hattie Brown and Fred S. Brown. Fred died February 12, 1948 in Pomona, Los Angeles, California and was buried in San Jacinto Valley Cemetery.
