SHEPPARD Lloyd Ross Sheppard, Jr., of OKC, passed away Jan 4, 2001, with his loving wife Pat by his side. He was born April 6, 1936, in Pharoah, OK, to Lloyd Ross, Sr., and Jewell Sheppard. Lloyd moved with his family to OKC in 1950 & graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1955. After graduation, Lloyd served three years in the US Army, with tours of duty in Japan and Korea. He then met his true love, Patricia Ann Foree. They were married Aug. 22, 1959. Lloyd worked for many years in the grocery business, first for Smith Grider Foods and later for Continental Baking Co. He retired in 1995. Lloyd lived a life of honesty and integrity. After retirement, he served others through his volunteer work with the Mobile Meals for senior citizens and shutins. Lloyd was a dedicated member of the Oakcrest Church of Christ. In addition to his wife, Lloyd leaves behind 4 children: Deborah Sheppard of OKC and husband Bob; Sheila Cahlik of OKC & husband Bill; Michael Shephard of Tulsa and wife Cindy; Penny Lowry of Edmond & husband David; eleven grandchildren: Adam, Candace, Lindsay, Lacey, Melinda, David, Brian, Matthew, Nathan, Melissa, and Casey; and one great-grandchild Hayley Brooke. Lloyd was their "Pop Pop". Lloyd is also survived by 2 brothers: John L. Sheppard of Bell flower, CA & wife Carol Ann; Gwynne L. Sheppard of OKC & wife Gerry; & two sisters: Elmina Cowell and husband Bill; Carolyn Chessmore of Shawnee & husband John. The family wishes to express their deepest thanks to the doctors, nurses, & staff of Deaconess Hospital for their support & kindness in caring for Lloyd, whom we will love and miss so much until we are with him once again. Services will be Mon., Jan. 8, at Oakcrest Church of Christ, 1111 SW 89, OKC, at 10:00 a.m. under the direction of Vondel L. Smith and Son Mortuary, with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
