Barbara Ann Blackman Hardaway was called home to be with the lord on Tuesday April 4, 2006. She was the 2nd child born to George & the late Doris Hardaway on December 18, 1946 in Gay, GA. Her family moved to Philadelphia when she was a young girl. She was educated in the Philadelphia public schools & graduated from Simon Gratz High School in 1965. Barbara had an outgoing & friendly personality. She enjoyed Cooking & entertaining. Shopping was one of her favorite pastimes along with traveling to exotic places. Her spirit of hospitality was always shown through her willingness to open her home to anyone needing a place to stay; temporarily or long term. "BARBARA ANN", as she was affectionately called by family & close friends, was a very classy dresser; never flamboyant or showy, just quiet & stylish. Barbara was the glue that held things together. She was a lover of "oldies"; she would spend hours listening to them. Barbara was employed to LTK Engineering Firm in Ambler, PA for almost 30 years. She also worked various other jobs including 1st Pennsylvania Bank in the Real Estate Department.

In April 1968 she met & married the love of her life in the person of William Edward Blackman. They became the proud parents of 1 Daughter Tiffany (Buffy) Blackman. Barbara's husband loved & spoiled her. He did anything she asked to make her happy. Barbara was very devoted & committed to her Daughter. She was equally devoted to her grandson, Shemar, so much she would get him on weekends & take him on vacations with her & Eddie. She also enjoyed a close relationship with all her sisters & brothers. Barbara would spend every weekend talking on the phone for hours with her sisters, daughter & two close friends.

She will truly be missed. Love ya aunt barb!
